Just the facts

By Know-it-All Nikki 6 Comments

The facts are this:

The chaos monkeys start school in 3 days, (Can I get “Whoop! Whoop!”) Margaritas will be served promptly at noon in celebration for the event. All those who can attend, please RSVP. All those “virtual” attendees, please have your drinks ready, I will not wait for you to roll the glass in sugar or salt when I am ready to toast. Drinks must be in hand promptly at noon.

I also begin school next week. Monday to be exact. I begin my first (of hopefully many) online classes. The whole “online” class is new to me. I quite enjoy the option of going to class, listening to lecture, taking notes, break, lively discussion, all of it. Or rather I enjoy the opportunity to get out of the house, dressed and put together like a grown up. One who has been told that she doesn’t look old enough to have bred four chaos monkeys. The week after I do get to begin my other class (for which I will have an actual classroom – yay!) So that alone thrills me.

I am also beginning some freelance writing with two (possibly three) clients. At this point, it looks like I could be provided with some steady income which I will be most greatful for. I just need to finish up my paperwork and send it all in by Monday AM. I am both excited and nervous because it will require me to make some massive changes to my schedule so I can fit family, study and writing all in 24 hours. (I am taking donations for caffeine and chocolate now). I do need to send Debng, Kristen, Kelly, and Lori some link love because without them and the blogs they author, I might be a little more lost in the freelance writing department. That’s not to say I haven’t received support from other places and bloggers but these blogging ladies have put out some great information for me which I have just absorbed like a sponge and I finally feel it’s beginning to pay off.

So those are the facts. I may not be posting as often – you’ll notice even lately I have been remiss about it. I would suggest subscribing to me (hint, hint) so that you don’t miss anything new.

Life is getting crazy-hectic. Feel free to hop aboard for the ride.

I didn't think i would need a laptop today. Turns I didn't think i would need a laptop today. Turns out I was slightly wrong. Prepared as always with all my electronics, I'm thankful my kindle was fully charged as was the keyboard because my tablet definitely wasn't... Sure, I have pen and paper but that's for brainstorming! I was also in need of my favorite chai!

Hanging with my former office manager at the satel Hanging with my former office manager at the satellite location has made me realize that time marches on with or without us. Eventually we all move a little slower, our hair color fades, and our age begins to show, both inside and out.
.

But age is just a number and a state of mind. Our people see past the surface and love what's underneath and that's really all that matters.

Have I ever told you how much I hate needles? If n Have I ever told you how much I hate needles? If not, let me explain.

A childhood of being poked, held down, crying over the feeling of a needle under my skin has left me traumatized to the point of even feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and nauseous at times.

The very idea that I have to do this to myself twice a day for the next week makes me want to vomit. I begged them to not make me do it but when I told the NP how I felt, ugh... it was dismissed.

Wasnt there another option? Apparently not as warfarin isn't reliable (current blood thinner) or so I have been told.

I've been told this doesn't hurt and that I won't feel a thing but I've been lied to before.

If you don't hear from me in the morning, there's a good chance I fainted and cracked my head open on the floor.
